Abstract

The Indian bakery and confectionery Industry is one of the biggest in the country with regard to Food Industry. Today the Indian confectioners are striving to establishment their products in the Indian market and have managed to capture the market to a great extent. There are four major players such as Britannia, Parle, ITC and Cadbury which constitute 75% of the market. Since the advancement of technology the trends are almost instantaneous and the products are in demand. India in an emerging market for unique high end food concepts where the sale of chocolate has been increasing in the country over the year and which has been consider as an indulgence product. Sales are driven mainly by sugar confectionery which makes up almost 50% of India confectionery value sales "understanding the role of confectionery consumption as the part of a balanced diet" is the latest science behind the health benefits of chocolates apart from promotional strategy. Nowadays the consumption of chocolates is increasing and the preference of chocolates by the youngsters is more attractive and it becomes the breakfast in day to day life.
