Abstract
This study presents a comparative analysis of control strategies aimed
at enhancing fuel efficiency in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). With
growing concerns over environmental sustainability and energy
conservation, optimizing HEV performance is paramount. We evaluate
and compare several control strategies, including rule-based, model
predictive and adaptive algorithms, considering their effectiveness in
real-world driving scenarios. Through simulation and experimentation,
we quantify the impact of each strategy on fuel consumption, emissions,
and drivability metrics. Our findings highlight the strengths and
limitations of each approach, offering insights into the most promising
avenues for improving HEV fuel efficiency. This research contributes to
advancing sustainable transportation solutions and informs future
developments in HEV control systems.
