Abstract
This paper outlines the design and construction of a module suitable for
driving the vehicles in hill station. Auto braking system is used for
vehicles going in upward direction. This construction includes of two
phases. In first module, slope of the vehicle is observed using micro-
electromechanical system (MEMS) Sensor and in second phase, motor
speed is controlled based on the data from sensor. Sensor is interfaced
to the microcontroller using 12c Protocol where the controller receives
the information from the sensor and processes it according to the desired
decisions. An automatic Braking system is an intelligent mechatronic
system includes an Ultrasonic wave emitter provided on the front portion
of a car producing and emitting Ultrasonic waves. An Ultrasonic receiver
is also placed on the front portion of the car operatively receiving a
reflective Ultrasonic wave signal. The reflected wave (detected pulse) gives
the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle. Then a microcontroller
is used to control the speed of the vehicle based on the detection pulse
information to push the brake pedal and apply brake to the car
stupendously for safety purpose.
