Nanoparticles have more comprehensive applications, such as providing targeted drug delivery mechanisms, enhancing the energy source in industrial units, and developing substantial biocompatible properties. In green synthesis, especially biological sources have secondary metabolites promoting the specified nanoparticles’ medicinal properties. This study focused on the synthesis of Chrysanthemum indicum flower-mediated magnesium oxide nanoparticles (C-MgO NPs) by a simple method. The resulting C-MgO NPs were analyzed by UV, FTIR, XRD, FESEM, EDX, and TGA. FTIR spectra show the presence of O–H stretch, N–H stretch, C-N stretch, and Mg-O-Mg bond. In the UV–vis spectra analysis, the peak range at 270 nm indicates the occurrence of C-MgO NPs. The crystalline phase-mediated face-centered cubic structures were analyzed by XRD analysis. The rod-shaped and strong signals of Mg, O, and C were observed by FESEM and EDX analyses. The average size of C-MgO NPs was 20.5 nm. In TGA, it is clearly stated that 32.8% of mass reduction was obtained for C-MgO NPs. In addition, the antioxidant activity of C-MgO NPs was assessed by 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and observed that it holds significant antioxidant activity. The minimum concentration (50 µg/mL) of the C-MgO NPs was shows the 50.82 ± 0.68 of inhibition and the scavenging activity was increased to 67.21 ± 0.13 at the concentration of 750 µg/mL. It provides essential biomedical applications such as antioxidant properties and can be used in cosmetic industries. C-MgO NPs are proven to be biocompatible agents. The current investigation determined the safer use of eco-friendly bio-synthesized C-MgO NPs in the field of biomedicine in near future.
