Abstract

The Rice husk contains high amount of organic matter, which break down by the actions of microorganisms using anaerobic digestion to produce biogas. The various percentage of total solids (Ts) concentration of rice straw effect of agitation time, pH, temperature and effectiveness of microorganisms in the decomposition process and to generated and studied in order to determine the conditions for optimum biogas yield. Floating dome anaerobic digester were utilized, with contains different percentage of the Ts and biogas yield is monitored directly by the digital gas flow meter. It is observed that amount of biogas yield generated for 10% Ts, 20% Ts, and 30% Ts which gave the 1.13m³, 1.25m³ and 1.03m³ respectively. The result shows that 20% Ts concentration and 15min agitation time and pH of 7.2 had the maximum biogas yield.
