Abstract

Cloud computing allows business customers to scale up and down their resource usage based on needs. The mobile users demand a certain level of quality-of-service provisioning while they use services from the cloud, even if the interfacing gateway changes due to the mobility of the users. Many of the touted gains in the cloud model came from resource multiplexing through virtualization technology. In this paper, we present a system that uses virtual machine to allocate data center resources dynamically based on application demands and support green computing by optimizing the number of servers in use and redistribution among the interfacing gateways for maximizing their utility. We introduce the concept of “AWRY” metric to measure the unevenness in the multidimensional resource utilization of a server. By minimizing AWRY, we can combine different types of workloads effectively and improve the overall utilization of server resources. Based on DJ algorithm, we trace the performance and usage of the bandwidth efficiently. © 2017, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc. All rights reserved.
