Connected Speech Recognition System Supported Syllable based Speech Recognition System

The speech given as input can be an isolated words, connected words, continuous speech or spontaneous speech. In this paper, an overview of the connected speech recognition system is given. The general adjustments that occur during a connected word speech are also discussed with suitable examples. The most commonly used algorithms used for connected word speech recognition system and a qualitative evaluation of the algorithms are discussed in this paper. The contribution of Connected Word Segmentation for Tamil speech recognition system is also discussed.
