In general investment decisions are normally made by men. However, in recent times women also play greater role towards making investment decisions. It was reported earlier that there exists a difference towards the investment preference among genders. Women were found to be more conventional and they are averse to take risk, so what happens in the case of men and women employed in the banks? Hence it becomes essential to study how investment preferences and investment behaviour of women and men employed in banks differ between various investments such as Equity shares, Mutual funds, Gold, Real estates, Life Insurance policies, Bank deposits, Post office savings and Government bonds. An attempt has been made in this research to find out whether there exist differences in their investment preferences and investment behaviour of bank employed men and women. A study was aimed towards this idea and the data were collected from 125 respondents identified by convenient sampling. Data was collected by using a well-structured, pre-tested questionnaire and analysed using appropriate statistical tools. The results revealed that there exists significant gender differences towards investment preferences and towards investment behaviour of bank employed.
