Abstract

Biosynthesis of nano materials is a better alternative to physical and chemical methods because of eco-friendly, cost effective and less time requirement. In the present study nano porous nickel oxide particles were prepared by novel green synthesis method using aqueous and alcoholic extract of Eclipta prostrata plants. The plant extract behaves both as a strong reductant and capping agent for the synthesis of nano particles. 10ml of the plant extract was mixed with 90ml 0.1M of nickel nitrate aqueous solution. The reaction mixture was heated at 80oC for one hour. The change in the colour of the mixer confirms the formation of nano particles and completion of the reaction, after that the entire content was kept in a muffle furnace at 300°C. The synthesized nano particles will be physico chemically characterised by XRD, SEM and TEM.
