Conceptual Course Selection Framework for Post-Secondary Students’ Enrolment in Indian Universities and Colleges

The transition from higher secondary school to higher education is one of the key transitions in students' life. Due to increasing opportunities in higher education, post-secondary students in India are intricate to choose their courses. The completion of secondary education is a primary step to study a high-employability course at university or college is a common expectation among post-secondary students and their parents (A common expectation among post-secondary students and their parents is to enroll a high employability course at university or college). Proper understanding of academic and career aspirations leads adolescents to success in their future life and facilitates better destinations. But most of the educational institute fails to appoint experts to engage the students for proper counseling about courses offered by the university. This research work proposes the conceptual framework for post-secondary students to elect the higher education courses based on their academic records and skills. This framework explores the appropriate courses to ensure a positive impact among the student, and reduce the knowledge gap between school and higher education.
