Abstract

The modern society runs behind the information technology where the cloud computing has become a dominant entity in modern day communication. The cloud is the environment which clubs’ number of resources independent of location and enables various cloud services to access the data. The data present in the cloud belongs to various users and needs to secure them from malicious access. To enable this, there are number of approaches available for access restriction. However, the application of encryption techniques is more efficient in ensuring the security of data available in the cloud. Number of encryption standards available to improve the data security in cloud environment. This paper discusses various methods of encryption being used for the security enforcement of cloud data. Finally, a comparative analysis is performed and the efficiency of the methods are discussed in detail. The performance of the methods are evaluated under different conditions by varying the data size and number of users in the cloud environment.
