Transportation problem helps in solving issues on the distribution and transportation of resources from one place to another. In this paper, we investigate a transportation problem in which cost coefficients are trapezoidal and pentagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. This paper evolves an approach to solve an intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problem. Where the cost is not deterministic values but imprecise ones. We propose a straightforward method for the solution of intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problem. We solved the problem by using a ranking technique named as an accuracy function for trapezoidal and pentagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. We provide an illustrative example to verify this approach.
