The objective of this paper is to introduce a new ranking functions of Generalized Nonagonal fuzzy numbers to solve fuzzy Assignment problem. This ranking fuzzy numbers plays a major role in decision making and optimization. The proposed method describes an ordering fuzzy Nonagonal numbers based on rank, mode, divergence and spreads of generalized Nonagonal fuzzy numbers. This ranking technique is used to convert the Generalized Nonagonal fuzzy number into crisp ones and Hungarian method is exerted to yield optimal cost with minimum time. The proposed approach is illustrated with the numerical examples
