Abstract
In this paper, BiFeO3, YMnO3 and BiFeO3-YMnO3 compounds were synthesized and compared their structural, morphological and light absorption characteristics for the first time. The XRD analysis of the synthesized samples revealed that the crystal structures of BiFeO3, YMnO3 and BiFeO3-YMnO3 are rhombohedral, hexagonal and rhombohedral-hexagonal. SEM images were used to examine the particle shape of all the synthesized compounds. The optical band gap values were measured to be 1.95, 1.35 and 1.28 eV for the BiFeO3,YMnO3 and BiFeO3-YMnO3 samples, using Tauc plots.
