Abstract

Blockchain technology has the abilities that are decentralized, distributed, secure, faster, transparent, and non-modifiable. These are more beneficial than the existing technologies. Academic certificates issued by educational institutes are most significant for the students at the time of recruitment, attending government exams, applying for higher education, and also for getting visa to go abroad. The certificate issuing method is not very transparent and verifiable. Hence, there are a lot of chances for making fake certificates. This problem is solved by using the recently emerged blockchain technology with the feature of high data security and immutable data storage in distributed ledger to fight back the document fraud and forge. This research is aimed to enhance the document verification process by using blockchain technology. And also this paper centers around the broadening information on blockchain and recognizing the benefits, hazards, and therefore, the related difficulties regarding the effective execution of application supported blockchain technology with principles and rules for educational certificate verification. Finally, this review paper has proposed the academic certificate authenticity system by using blockchain technology to avoid the utilization of fake documents.
