Cancer is one of the deadliestdiseases that affects millions around the globe. Cancer patients who are diagnosed early have a better chance of survival. Cancer is a disease that causes abnormal cell growth that spreads throughout the body. Data mining techniques can be used to predict lung cancer at an early stage. Spongy organs like the lungs can be damaged by cancer cells, which can result in death. Lung cancer is frequently caused by smoking, being exposed to second-hand smoke at work, or inhaling industrial pollution or other air pollution, as well as being genetically predisposed to the disease. In this paper, we conduct a comprehensive review on various techniques of natural language processing to detect and diagnose the lung cancer in patients. The study finds various techniques applied to improve the prediction ability of natural language processing. The study further presents the limitations and scope for future improvement in detecting the lung cancer diseases.
