Since segmentation of the image is an important step in identifying Jasmine plant diseases. This research proposed a methodology for segmentation that is implemented in detecting Jasmine plant diseases. There are popular image segmentation techniques available such as edge-based, region-based and threshold techniques, etc. The threshold and region-based techniques were utilized for segmenting the leaf margin and Region of Interest (RoI) from the Jasmine leaf image. The proposed method named LEAFLET PATHOGENS PRUNING (LPPr) focused on green pixels for getting the leaf part of the image from its background and on lesions pixels of the image by pruning the diseased region of the Jasmine leaf image. This paper presents an implementation of the proposed algorithm and obtained results were shown. The proposed algorithm effectively finds the RoI of the Jasmine leaf image for classifying diseases in it.
