Abstract
In this research concentration to optimize the corrosion rate of the immersion test with various factors. Aluminium alloy 5083 preferred for this study for as a base material and the Titanium Diboride (TiB2) is used for reinforcement particles with different percentage manner. The aluminium alloy composites were prepared by powder metallurgy direction with applying 100 Ton capacity of compaction.
Corrosion rate mils per year is optimized by influencing of independent variables are % of reinforcement such as 4%, 8% and 12%, Corrosion medium (% of HCL) as 3%. 4% and 5% last factor Immersion time (hrs) such as 48 hrs, 96 hrs and 144 hrs. All the samples are immersed in hydrochloric acid with different percentage of concentration. The DOE implies to evaluate the best corrosion rate with influence of Taquchi
and ANOVA with the assist of Minitab. Microstructure analysis of highest corrosion rate for the sample
was analyzed through 3D surface profilometry method by use of gwyddion software.
