Abstract

The mixed morphology of semiconducting metal sulfide nanostructured materials has been the hotspot of re-
search. In this paper, we have reported the sugar assisted hydrothermal method, applied to prepare spherical/flake surface morphology of ZnS nanostructures. The crystal structure, surface morphology, light absorption, energy gap, emission peak, surface defects and photocatalytic properties of ZnS materials have been examinedthrough the XRD, SEM, TEM, UV–visible, FL and photocatalytic studies. A solution of methyl orange dye is mixedwith prepared ZnS samples under the illumination of UV-light; the photocatalytic degradation absorption, andefficiency have been estimated from the optical spectra of this mixtures.
