Composite materials based on thermoset polymers, often termed as advanced composites, have significant impact in a wide range of application areas including but not limited to automotive, electronics, aerospace and biomedical engineering, due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, durability, chemical stability, and environmental resistance. Engineering these advanced composites at the nanoscale results in significant rise in the properties at the macroscopic level, when compared to the conventional thermoset composites. Nano-engineered thermoset composite materials loaded with nanofillers such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs) outperform conventional thermoset composites, thanks to the superior thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties of CNTs. This chapter highlights the preparation strategies of various thermoset/CNT composites and their potential application aspects. The chapter also provides insights to researchers on the state of the art in carbon nanotechnology for thermoset composites, providing a platform for further research and to address the challenges in developing the next-generation thermoset/CNT composite materials.
