Abstract
The industries like power plant, automobile etc. demanded the heat transfer enhancement for heating, cooling and evaporation applications through the equipments like air conditioning, radiators, refrigerators etc. There are passive and active or combinations of them are employed based on the requirement. As the passive technique is uncomplicated, it preferred widely for enhancing the heat transfer in pipes of the heat exchanger. The increase of thermal conductivity of fluid medium by means of nano fluid and the flow resistance offered by inserting the by inserting the twisted tape with rectangular cut on its rib. The titanium dioxide, Beryllium oxide or beryllia, zinc oxide and copper oxide nanofluids with base fluid of plain water. The numerical study is investigating the thermal performance with respect to the laminar to turbulence flow with various nanofluids in the heat exchanger pipe with insert of twisted tape with rectangular cut on its rib. The results are compared and best nanofluid was suggested.
