Abstract

A new coumarin based sensor probe, (E )-7-hydroxy-3(2-(2-(1-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)ethylidene)hydrazinyl)oxazol-4-yl)-2H-chromen-2-one (7HACOX ) was designed, synthesized and characterized by using various spectroscopictechniques
. This probe showed good selectivity and high sensitivity towards Al in the presence of most metal ions, inDMSO/Water medium at p7.4. The binding ratio of the probe to aluminium was found to be 1:1, which has beenconfirmed by using
H nuclear magnetic resonance titration ( H NMR), mass spectrometry, Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy and Job’s plot. Furthermore, the binding constant (Ka) between probe and Al was calculated to be1.423x10 M and the detection limit of probe for Al was 8.2910 × 10M. The fluorescence cell imaging experimentswith HeLa cells revealed that the probe has good cell-membrane permeability.
