Abstract
The novel Gum Arabic-Ammonium Thiocyanate-based solid
polymer electrolyte was synthesized using the solventcasting technique, which involved mixing Gum Arabic (GA) with ammonium thiocyanate (NH SCN) in the presence ofwater. The different concentrations of NH SCN admixture with the GA synthesized have been characterized by X-rayDiffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), dielectric
, and ionic conductivity studies. The structural behavior(amorphous or semi crystalline, vibrational shifts), dielectric constant & dielectric loss behavior, relaxation time, andionic conductivity response of various NH SCN concentrations admixture on the GA have shown significant variationand the results are presented in detail. To make the batteries have a better ionic conductivity, the synthesized GA-NH SCN sample, two cathode materials (MnO
(Cell I) and PbO + V O (Cell II)), and one anode material(Zn/ZnSO ·7H O) have been taken for examining the open circuit voltage and discharge characteristics at differentresistances as a function of time, and their results were discussed in detail.
