Abstract

The study has addressed the problem of understanding how the awareness, have perceived value, cost, and the charging infrastructure has shaped purchase preferences before buying and the satisfaction, trust, and the word-of-mouth behavior after ownership. A structured questionnaire is distributed to 400 respondents who either planned to buy or had purchased an electric vehicle. The data has analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and the regression models to identify the a key behavioral determinant. The results have revealed that pre-purchase decisions are significantly has influenced by environmental concern, have perceived savings, and the brand the reliability, whereas postpurchase satisfaction strongly depended on performance, charging convenience, and the after-sales service quality. Moreover, social influence and the government policies had indirect however considerable effects on both phases of consumer behavior. The results have revealed that pre-purchase decisions are significantly has influenced by environmental concern, have perceived value (β=0.346), brand the reliability (β=0.278), and the awareness (β=0.214), while post-purchase satisfaction strongly depended on service quality (β=0.165) and the performance satisfaction (β=0.189). The proposed model has achieved superior predictive performance with the MAE = 0.125,RMSE=0.165,R2=0.89, has adjusted R2=0.88, and the F-statistic = 46.5, which performs better than the existing methods. These findings have confirmed that combines the preand the post-purchase behavioral factors that has provided a comprehensive understanding of EV adoption in Chennai, which offers an actionable insight for the manufacturers and the policymakers.
