Abstract
Employee engagement in the educational sector is presently recognized as
a critical determinant of institutional effectiveness, teaching quality, and
long-term sustainability. This chapter examines employee engagement
among faculty and administrative staff in higher educational institutions
using empirical data collected from 312 respondents across 12 institutions.
Quantitative analysis indicates that engagement levels average 71.4%, with
leadership support (β = 0.42, p < 0.01), professional development
opportunities (β = 0.37, p < 0.05), and digital infrastructure readiness (β =
0.29, p < 0.05) significantly influencing engagement outcomes. Structural
equation modeling presently confirms that employee engagement explains
53% of the variance in organizational performance indicators such as
teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and student satisfaction. The
findings demonstrate that strengthening engagement mechanisms directly
supports institutional resilience, sustainability goals, and educationfocused Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while advancing the
Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of digital academic ecosystems.
