Abstract

The present study aims to know emotional intelligence level of higher secondary school students
with respect to their gender. In this study descriptive survey method was used for collecting the data. The
researcher utilized simple random sampling methods for selecting the sample simple random sampling was
employed to select 300 higher secondary students, out of which 80 males and 80 females. The researcher
used a single scale to collect data which was by Emotional Intelligence Test developed by Alejandra Salazar
(2017). To analyze the data mean (M), standard deviation (SD) and‘t’-test have been used by the researcher.
The study found that the majority of both male and female students have an average level of emotional
intelligence. The study revealed that there was no significant difference in emotional intelligence between
male and female students. The study revealed that there was no significant difference in emotional
