Abstract

Work-life balance is a multifaceted concept that carries different meanings and implications for various
stakeholders. In recent years, it has gained increasing importance due to changing work patterns and rising job
demands. Over the past two decades, issues related to work–family and work–life balance have attracted
considerable attention from both employers and employees, particularly in the Information Technology (IT)
sector. Given the intensive workload and time pressures experienced by IT professionals, there is a growing
need to examine how employees manage their professional and personal responsibilities. This study focuses
on work-life balance among employees in IT organizations in Chennai. The primary objective is to identify
the factors that lead to imbalance, as well as to understand the benefits of maintaining a healthy balance for
both individuals and organizations. In addition, the study offers recommendations and strategies that
organizations can adopt to promote and improve work-life balance among their employees.
