Abstract

This study explores the impact of digital transformation on commerce, focusing on the transition from
traditional storefronts to smartphone-driven business models. With the rise of mobile commerce (m-
commerce), consumers increasingly rely on smartphones for shopping, payments, and service access.
Businesses now adopt technologies like e-commerce platforms, mobile apps, and digital payment systems
to meet evolving customer expectations. The research highlights benefits such as convenience, speed, and
personalization, while also addressing challenges like cybersecurity risks, data privacy, and digital skill
gaps—especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The study concludes that embracing mobile-
first strategies and digital infrastructure is essential for business growth and competitiveness in today’s
commerce environment.
