Abstract
With the vision of emerging as a major force in the global economy, Viksit
Bharat recognizes the critical role of human capital in driving long-term, sustainable
growth and development. Despite notable progress in recent years, the nation continues
to face significant challenges in the domains of education and skill development.
This study examines the key barriers hindering effective investment in human
capital within the Viksit Bharat framework. Drawing on empirical data and existing
literature, it explores multidimensional issues such as socioeconomic disparities, skill
mismatches, infrastructure deficits, and limited access to quality education, particularly
in underserved rural areas.
A major concern is the persistent gap between formal education outcomes and
evolving industry requirements, which underscores the urgent need to realign skill
development initiatives with labor market demands. Furthermore, inadequate
infrastructure and entrenched social inequalities continue to hamper equitable access to
learning opportunities.
The study also proposes strategic interventions and policy recommendations
aimed at fostering a robust and future-ready workforce. Building a skilled and inclusive
labor force is not only essential for economic prosperity but is also foundational to the
vision of a truly developed Viksit Bharat by 2047
