Abstract

The study investigates the factors contributing to the glass ceiling effect on women’s career progression in the IT sector. Using a descriptive survey method with 57 women employees in Chennai IT companies, the research identifies personal, organizational, and societal factors affecting women’s advancement into top-level management positions. The study concludes that societal factors are the major barrier to women career progression.
