Abstract

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a multidisciplinary field that combines
techniques from computer science, linguistics, and artificial intelligence. At its
core, NLP aims to make machines capable of processing natural human
languages, such as English, Hindi, Tamil, or any spoken language, and derive
meaning from them. Unlike programming languages, natural languages are full
of irregularities, multiple meanings, and cultural nuances. NLP tackles this by
analyzing and modeling linguistic structure and meaning through computational
techniques. The field involves understanding the syntax (structure), semantics
(meaning), and pragmatics (contextual usage) of language. NLP is not just about
interpreting text but also about generating responses, translating languages, and
even summarizing or classifying content.
