Immuno-Modulatory Effect Of Probiotics In Allergic Diseases

Prevalence of allergic diseases tends to increase in global population over the past decade in many countries of the world. Loss of microbial load in gut (gastro-intestine) might involve in the progress of various allergic disorders. Presence of probiotics in the intestinal flora prevents the occurrence of undesirable allergic reaction in the host immune system. In particular with allergy, probiotics seems to show positive effect in reducing Th2 cytokine profile as well as promotion of Th1 cells and Treg differentiation. Probiotics enhances the restoration of microbial in the gut, modulating the immune system by their metabolites which fetch in decline of allergic condition. The focus of this review is on highlighting the powerful effects of this treatment for managing, preventing, and treating allergic diseases.
