This paper presents a high-efficiency grid integration solution for Fuel Cell (FC) and Photovoltaic (PV) systems using DC-DC converter with an Firefly optimized Proportional-Integral (PI) controller. The proposed system addresses the challenges of voltage stabilization and energy efficiency, crucial for enhancing renewable energy utilization. By employing a PV and FC as the primary energy sources, complemented by Quasi Z-Source Converter (qZSC) and boost converter respectively, the system ensures a reliable and consistent power supply. The performance of the qZSC is further enhanced by fine-tuning the PI controllers' parameters using the Firefly optimization technique. The switching function of qZSC is produced by the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) generator. The proposed approach improves energy efficiency and ensures smooth grid synchronization, contributing to sustainable energy systems and enhancing overall grid reliability. Simulation results on the MATLAB platform indicate a 90% efficiency for the QZS converter, with 93% of accuracy of Firefly optimization method.
