Abstract

Agriculture and energy systems faced issues such as insufficient farm power supply and challenging renewable energy integration. This study presents an improved Energy Storage System (ESS) that combines a solar wind hybrid system with an optimal Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique to assure sustainable energy for agricultural output. A Reboost Luo converter enhances energy conversion efficiency, while a Horse Herd Optimization (HHO) based Perturb & Observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm improves tracking accuracy and response speed. Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) is regulated through a PWM rectifier and PI-controlled PWM generator, ensuring stable power flow. A bidirectional battery converter manages energy storage, balancing supply demand fluctuations for improved stability and reliability. MATLAB simulations validate the system’s converter efficiency (94%) and minimal oscillations under dynamic conditions, demonstrating its effectiveness for sustainable agricultural energy management.
