Abstract

In today’s cinematic marketing landscape, title teaser have emerged as powerful tools that build anticipation, shape audience expectations, and introduce the tone of the film well before its release. These title sequences, often rich in symbolism, stylistic detail, and narrative suggestion, set the tonal foundation for the audience’s cinematic experience. This research investigates the aesthetic, semiotic, and strategic dimensions of title teaser from three iconic Tamil films—Vikram, Leo, and Coolie, all directed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Through a close textual analysis, the study examines recurring stylistic threads such as colour palette, typography, sound design, and embedded narrative cues, positioning them as micro-textual agents of meaning-making. The findings underscore the dual role of title teaser videos as both artistic expressions and strategic audience-engagement mechanisms in the evolving visual culture of Tamil cinema.
