Abstract

Abstract: Coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, coral reefs, sea grass, and salt marsh ecosystems are the world's first line of defense against climate change, but they are increasingly threatened by sea-level rise (SLR), thermal stress, and ocean acidification. This paper assesses the coupling of hydrodynamics, biogeochemistry, and biological resilience modeling using a coupled mathematical model to detect tipping points in critical ecosystems.
