Abstract

The hotel industry, also known as the lodging sector, forms a crucial
component of the global hospitality system. It encompasses a wide
variety of establishments that provide accommodation, meals, and
related services to travelers and tourists. The industry contributes
significantly to employment generation, foreign exchange earnings,
and the growth of allied industries such as travel, transportation, and
food services. In ancient times, the wheel had not been discovered, so
people used to travel by walking, covering long distances. Since then,
the concept of hospitality was there, but there was no interest in
money or any economic profit. Travelers used to stay in the homes of
villagers, then, slowly, inns were available but at very low rent. The
primary objective of the hotel industry is to deliver comfort,
convenience, and service excellence to its guests while maintaining
profitability and operational efficiency. As a service-intensive
industry, it depends heavily on human interaction, guest satisfaction,
and the ability to anticipate and respond to evolving consumer expectations. Hotels today are no longer just places to stay; they are
centers of experience, innovation, and lifestyle.
