Abstract
The Rhizosphere, the region surrounding plant roots, harbors diverse microbial
communities that play a crucial role in plant growth and ecosystem functioning. This study
aimed to isolate and screen Rhizosphere bacteria for industrially important extracellular
enzymes. Soil samples were collected from the Rhizosphere of various plants, and bacteria
were isolated using selective media. A total of 10 bacterial isolates were obtained and
screened for their ability to produce extracellular enzymes such as amylase, cellulase, lipase,
and protease. Four isolates showed positive results for one or more enzymes, with 10 isolates
exhibiting high enzyme activity. Our results highlight the potential of Rhizosphere bacteria as
a source of industrially important enzymes, which could be used in various biotechnological
applications such as bio fuel production, food processing, and in the textile and paper-pulp
industries. Further studies on enzyme optimization and strain improvement are recommended
for commercial utilization.
