Abstract
Damages for breach of contract is an unique and peculiar subject which deals with
compensation awarded in case of breach of contract. In India breach of contract is governed by
the Indian contract act, 1872. Every individual, in one way or the other way will come across
as a party to a contract, in this sophisticated modern life. As a party, one must know what he
must do and what he must not do. As a party to the contract, he is obliged to perform his side
of the contract and in case of failure of his performance the other party will suffer some loss or
injury for which he party must be compensated. This is known as the damages for breach of
contract. It simply means compensation for the party who had offered from the breach of
contract by the other party. In this paper, let us discuss in detail about the damages for breach
of contract
