Abstract

This paper presents a comparative research in a new area of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) with the help of a Plithogenic-Neutrosophic model. The study compares two popular MCDM methods, i.e. TOPSIS and VIKOR, in a systematic way with the aim of evaluating the alternative methods of reducing car air pollution. It will be analyzed based on actual data collected in the cities with various levels of pollution and mixed structures of vehicles. Plithogenic Neutrosophic sets are added to the evaluation system in order to capture uncertainty, indeterminacy and conflicts of information involved in environmental decision problems. The decision framework incorporates key performance indicators like vehicle emission levels, fuel efficiency as well as environmental impact. The results about the comparison of the results obtained under the two approaches is graphically represented in a radar diagram, which gives a clear demonstration of alternative performance. The outcomes are similar every time despite the fact that electric cars do better than the petrol, diesel and hybrid. The results underscore the strength of integrating Plithogenic Neutrosophic theory and MCDM technologies and show the relevance of information-based decision-making processes with regard to the need to deal with vital sustainability concerns within the transportation industries.
