Abstract

This research proposes an efficient PV powered EV charging station integrating supercapacitor and grid. The modified Luo converter boosts low and fluctuating output voltage from the PV system with enhanced voltage gain. The operations of the converter is enhanced by novel Golden Eagle Optimization (GEO) algorithm ensures precise and adaptive tuning of Proportional Integral (PI) gains, enhancing converter stability, minimizing overshoot, and accelerating system convergence. In event of PV energy generation conditions are not met, supercapacitor and grid store the extra energy generated by solar panels, which is then used to power EV batteries. An ideal peak time of 0.03 s, a settling time of 0.05 s, and a low overshoot of 0.025 % are all attained by proposed enhanced PI controller. A 96% increase in efficiency is shown by modified Luo converter. MATLAB/Simulink is used to implement the entire system.
