Abstract

This paper presents an IoMT-based Smart Intravenous (IV) Drip Monitoring System designed to improve patient safety, reduce manual supervision, and enhance healthcare efficiency through real-time monitoring and automated control. The proposed system continuously measures IV fluid level, drip rate, and flow status using embedded sensors integrated with a microcontroller and IoMT communication module. The collected data is transmitted to a cloud platform, enabling healthcare professionals to remotely monitor patients through a mobile or web application. An automated flow control mechanism regulates the IV fluid delivery rate according to predefined parameters, while an intelligent alert generation module sends instant notifications in cases of abnormal flow, blockage, empty fluid bottles, or system malfunction. By minimizing human errors and ensuring timely intervention, the system provides a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable solution for modern smart healthcare environments, particularly in hospitals, emergency wards, and remote patient care applications.
