Abstract

ABSTRACT
AIM:The aim of the study is to compare the effects of High Intensity resistance training and Small Sided Games on
aerobic fitness in college going badminton players.
OBJECTIVE:To find out the effects of High Intensity Resistance Training and Small Sided Games on aerobic fitness in
college going badminton players.
BACKGROUND:Yining Lu, concluded that high intensity functional training was effective in improving aerobic
capacity among healthy inactive females.
Ana Filipa Silva, concluded that Small Sided Games and High Intensity Interval Training are both effective for improving
vertical and horizontal jumping ability, change of direction and aerobic capacity
OUTCOME MEASURES:Vertical Jump Test, Horizontal Jump Test (Single hop test, Triple hop test).
METHOD:The total 30 samples who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were recruited for the study. Written
informed consent was obtained from the samples. The procedures were explained to the samples, they were divided into
two groups namely group A -15 samples and group B -15 samples. High Intensity Resistance Training [HIRT] were given
for the 15 samples (group A) and Small Sided Gmes [SSGs] were given for the 15 samples (group B).
RESULT AND CONCLUSION:Aerobic fitness exhibited a significant superior improvement in Group A (HIRT) as
compared to Group B (SSG). Therefore, intense training could benefit in body fat percentage reduction as suggested by
this study.
KEYWORDS:High Intensity Resistance Training (HIRT), Small Sided Games (SSGs), Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL),
Triglycerides (TG), Jigh Density Lipoprotein (HDL)
