Abstract

Crossroads of culture and conflict: A comparative study of Identity in White Teeth and Pali RESHMA K Disalva x

This paper tries to explore the themes of identity, multiculturalism and post-colonial legacy.Whilewhite teeth delves into the lives of immigrant families in contemporary London, highlighting generational and cultural conflicts, Pali reflects on the traumatic aftermath of partition in India focusing the themes of religious identity and displacement. It also focusses on how cross-cultural tensions shape personal and collective identities, reminding us of that quest for self-understanding in a fractured world.
