Abstract
Organic farming is a type of farming that maintains and improves the natural balance of the environment. Organic farming is a sustainable agricultural system that promotes the use of natural inputs such as crop rotation, green manure, and biological pest control to enhance soil fertility, crop yields and protect the environment. Organic farming in India is driven by Growing demand for healthy food; need to conserve soil and water resources and Socio-economic benefits. This approach can contribute to sustainable development in India, promoting environmentally friendly practices and supporting local communities. The paper reviews the current status of organic farming in India, its benefits, challenges, and opportunities for sustainable development. The paper concludes by providing recommendations to accelerate the growth of organic farming in India.
