Abstract

Introduction Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving and influencingmany areas, including language studies and practices. With English being thedominant international lingua franca, AI-related technologies can have significanteffects on the ways English is taught, learned, communicated, and researchedworldwide. This paper aims to discuss the future of English as a global languageunder the conditions of technological development and dominance of AI. Inparticular, this paper seeks to explore the relationships between communication,technology, linguistics, and education in terms of English language. Methodology,in order to analyse the topic in question, this paper considers the ways AI influencesthe linguistic situation in general and English language specifically. DiscussionWhile AI can change some aspects of linguistic practices, it cannot make Englishlose its position as the dominant global language. Instead, AI can redefine the placeof English and create new opportunities for teaching, communicating, researching,and using this language. In this way, English language can evolve and transforminto an even more powerful global language that integrates AI-related practicesand technologies. Conclusion to conclude, despite the evolution of technologicalpractices and AI, English language will remain relevant on a global scale.
