Abstract
Abstract
Mother tongue-based education (MTBE) is increasingly recognized as a powerful approach for enhancing learning outcomes, especially in multilingual and multicultural societies. This paper explores the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing MTBE. It analyzes the pedagogical, socio-political, and infrastructural barriers that hinder its widespread adoption while also highlighting the cognitive, cultural, and linguistic benefits it offers. Drawing from global case studies and existing literature, the paper proposes strategies to overcome challenges and optimize MTBE for inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
