Abstract
Open Notebook is an AI-powered academic assistant
platform designed to streamline research understanding, content
extraction, and conference preparation. The system supports
multi-source inputs including web links, documents, and video
content, which are processed into structured knowledge using
automated extraction, summarization, and insight generation
techniques. It integrates a source-aware question-answering
mechanism that enables users to interact with extracted content
and efficiently generate technical notes suitable for academic
submissions. The platform is built with a scalable and modular
architecture that incorporates modern DevOps practices, including containerization using Docker for consistent deployment,
version control using Git for collaborative development, code
quality analysis via SonarQube, and deployment of a cloud- hosted
database for reliable and scalable data access. Asyn- chronous
processing is implemented to efficiently handle long- running
tasks, while configurable AI models allow a balance be- tween
performance and computational cost. Experimental usage
demonstrates a significant reduction in manual effort required for
analyzing research materials while improving consistency and
speed in preparing conference-ready documents, making it highly
beneficial for students participating in hybrid and online
academic events.
