Abstract

This article examines the growing issue of digital crime and the importance of forensic science in investigating cyber offences in India. It analyses the legal framework governing cybercrime, particularly the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related criminal laws. The article also discusses the role of digital forensic science in collecting, preserving, and analysing electronic evidence. Further, it highlights the practical challenges faced by investigators, judicial approaches towards cyber offences, and comparative perspectives from foreign jurisdictions.
