Abstract
Green synthesis of metal nanoparticles using medicinal plant extracts has emerged as a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach in nanobiotechnology. In the present study, palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) were synthesized using the aqueous extract of Senecio crotalaria, which served as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. The formation of palladium nanoparticles was initially indicated by a characteristic color change and further confirmed through various physicochemical characterization techniques including UV–Visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and dynamic light scattering (DLS). The synthesized PdNPs were found to be stable, crystalline, and predominantly spherical in morphology with nanoscale particle size.
